Product Description

Orthodox Duyu Maojian

Cultivar: Qun Ti Zhong (Heirloom plant). Duyun heirloom tea plant has been developed through natural domestication for thousands of years generation after generation at unique terroir. With more and more hybrid tea bushes developed for high and early yields in the world today, the heirloom cultivars such as Duyun heirloom plant have become increasingly rare and precious around the world, so the Orthodox Duyun Maojian (downy point of Duyun heirloom cultivar) comes extremely rare.
Altitude: 1500m. High quality teas come from high mountains and hills veiled in cloud and mist, it means that the higher the altitude, the higher the quality of tea.
Plucking: The bud and the first two leaves, hand-plucking.
According to Cha Jing ( the Classic of Tea) by Lu Yu in the Tang Dynasty, the bud and the first two leaves plucking was called "one spear and two flags" that means "one shoot and two leaves", now in Europe and America, it is defined as "whole leaf tea". Of very high quality and fine plucking harvests, the whole leaf tea of the bud and the first two leaves has been proven to contain abundant biochemical substances by tests, making it the plucking standard for high quality tea worldwide.
Harvest season: April 6, 2023.
Water extract: 46.1%. Water extract is a globally recognized standard for evaluating the quality of tea. When compared to ISO standard of 32%, Orthodox Duyun Maojian proves itself the world's top quality tea.
Tasting notes: Covered in fine downy hairs, the twisted fishhook shape leaves of the Orthodox Dunyun Maojian are a delight to the eyes. The infusion is very refreshing and gives off delicate notes of chestnut and floral aroma, with a lingering aftertaste and unique smooth finish of Guizhou Plateau terroir.
Producer: Mr. Luo
Recommended infusion accessory: A gaiwan or small teapot
